So you think you’re ready to start a business? Well what took you so long? I came across this InfoGraphic by our friend at Funders and Founders, a leading startup organisation.
In my time, I have met thousands of people saying, “one day I’ll get out and do my own thing, I just need to make sure it’s the right time.” But we’ve all heard this malarkey before. For some people, they believe that the right time only comes around once. But I was once told (quite rightly I must add) by my friend, Tina Olivero, Founder of The OGM, “the universe is always knocking at your door, but most people are not awake and don’t hear it; so the universe comes around again and knocks louder, and keeps on knocking until you wake up, or die.”
Oh how true. Thanks Tina!
You could have just lost your job, or got dumped by your girlfriend, or better yet have nothing going on in your life at all. These are all the best times to start a business. The only exception to this, and probably any rule, is death. Notice this is also in the InfoGraphic.
So what opportunity is life presenting you with at this very moment?

Great comment Kiril and you’re right. From my experience, having started many businesses, it really takes the right mindset to want to start, then start, and then stick to it.
A lot of truth and humor in this infographic. However, I think that natural entrepreneurs start a business regardless of any excuses. They have an inside drive that minimizes everything else but persistence toward success, and that is the most important factor that leads them to it.
Starting a business requires a lot of hard work and sacrifices. If you’re just looking to make money and there are excuses circulating in your mind, you are far from ready.
What about you? Besides kids (never), being born (only happens once), or being dead (not yet, as far as I know), is all the times I have started some sort of business or another.
