iphone-appsIt was only in October that SME World announced the partnership between Yadig! and GroupOn. Just over two months later, Yadig! now releases it’s new iPhone app, the first of it’s kind in the Middle East.

The iPhone app launch is in response to the increasing number of mobile users the site has been seeing over the past year. Out of the 250,000+ YaDig visitors each month, nearly 30% access the site from their smart phones. An mobile-friendly site also launched this month to coincide with the release of the app to provide a variety of ways to access their service.

  • “YaDig! has always been about empowering the customers of the region, and with this new YaDig! iPhone App we are really putting the power in the users’ hands. Now it is extremely easy to find out about, locate and learn about a business in a matter of seconds. You can even find the nearest businesses to your physical location with our Near Me feature. This is not only super useful but quite fun too.” said Andrew Lee Miller, Marketing Director at YaDig.

YaDig recently partnered with Groupon, a daily deal website, to provide independent reviews for hotels, restaurants and other business deals. Users will now be able to use the app to post reviews about deals on Groupon’s site. As reviews become more transparent, people will increasingly begin to trust the giant daily deal website.

The iPhone app can be downloaded via iTunes, with BlackBerry and Android versions coming out in early 2013. The app will make it easy for consumers to take something they are already doing – posting and reading reviews online – and use it in real time in an even more convenient and effective way. Trusting that consumer valuations are the future in the region, the YaDig! founders believe that the region will develop a culture of consumers expecting to see reviews before they make a decision, in a similar manner to other sophisticated retail markets.

If you’re in Dubai, there will be a launch party at McGettigan’s in the Dubai World Trade Centre area on Wednesday, December 19. Simply send an email to RSVP@Yadig.com.
